Salamander: detailed realistic painting

A new detailed realistic painting about woods in autumn. It’s a gouache illustration of a salamander that camouflages herself over soil covered with chestnut tree leaves. She stands still because a dog is passing nearby (probably watching her). I played with the colors to find a harmonic composition where the salamander could stand out even if camouflaged.
Painted on a Fabriano Artistico smooth paper, 300g. Size about 35×27 cm.

Nuovo dipinto realistico a tema bosco in autunno. Interamente creato a guazzo (tempera).
La salamandra è stata sopresa dal passaggio di un cane, ed si è immobilizzata per non farsi vedere. Le sue ottime capacità mimetiche la rendono quasi invisibile, se si passeggia in mezzo alle foglie secche di castagno. Ho scelto i colori con l’obiettivo di ottenere una composizione armoniosa, dove però la salamandra potesse spiccare anche se si sta mimetizzando.
